Safety Box - 12 Liter – Protection and Safety in a Single Container

The 12-liter sharps waste container (Safety Box) is the largest and most efficient choice for securing medical facilities with very high operational intensity.

This square, vertical container is designed to provide the maximum possible storage capacity, reducing the need to change boxes constantly in busy departments, while ensuring full compliance with international infection-control and biological-safety protocols to protect medical staff and cleaning workers from being pricked by sharp instruments.

Technical Specifications and Dimensions

  • Dimensions:
    • Height: 36 cm.

  • Material: Durable high-density plastic (polypropylene), resistant to puncture and breakage, and leak-proof.
  • Certifications and standards: Compliant with the international codes for the disposal of sharp clinical waste according to the United Nations standard (UN 3291 CLINICAL WASTE).

Features and Characteristics

  1. Superior, budget-friendly capacity: Thanks to its huge size (12 liters), the container reduces consumption costs and the frequency of box replacement in high-pressure departments.
  2. Superior mechanical resistance to penetration: Reinforced plastic walls prevent needle tips, needles, or sharp and heavy blades from coming out of the container even when it is full.
  3. Tight final locking system (Final Lock): The red lid has a flexible drop opening for daily use, and is equipped with a permanent, tight final locking system after which it is impossible to open the container, ensuring the highest levels of safety during transport and handling outside the facility.
  4. Sturdy top handle for safe transport: A strong, built-in plastic handle that allows the container to be carried and transported while completely full, in total safety and away from the user's body.
  5. Maximum fill line (FILL LINE): The front label includes an explicit warning not to fill the container above this line (DO NOT FILL ABOVE LINE) to prevent instruments from piling up at the opening.
  6. Infection-control data tracking table: The label contains dedicated fields for writing (hospital name, department, date, and box number) for easy internal administrative and health monitoring.

Where to Use the Product

The 12-liter container is the standard and essential choice in the busiest medical places:

  • Large central surgical operating rooms.
  • Busy emergency and reception departments (ER).
  • Dialysis units and blood transfusion centers and banks.
  • Central medical laboratories and university analysis labs.
  • National vaccination campaigns and large field hospitals.
  • Large veterinary medicine hospitals and centers.

Product Uses

Thanks to its distinctive height (36 cm), the container easily holds long and bulky sharp instruments:

  • Cannulas, long connectors, syringe needles of all sizes, and blood-drawing syringes.
  • Surgical scalpels and blades and suture needles.
  • Long glass test tubes, and large broken or empty ampoules.
  • Cautery instruments, medical device blades, and needles and waste from large cosmetic and laser centers.

Safe Method of Use

  • Initial assembly: The main red lid is fitted over the yellow body and the corners are pressed firmly until it locks completely before being put into service.
  • Daily use: Waste and sharp instruments are dropped directly through the top opening of the lid (it is strictly forbidden to push waste in by hand or use force to insert it).
  • Adherence to the safety limit: When the waste reaches the safety line (FILL LINE) (about 3/4 of the container), you must immediately stop accepting any new waste.
  • Tight final locking: The small lid dedicated to the top opening is pressed until you hear the sound of complete closure to ensure it is locked permanently and cannot be reopened.
  • Actual disposal: The container is moved safely by its handle and handed over to the competent authorities to be sent to approved medical waste incinerators for final disposal by burning (DESTROY BY INCINERATION).
